Computation :

Computation will permit to evaluate the values of interesting parameters such as speed, pressure…in each cell of the mesh. Integrating all the information on the domain, one can deduce important elements for the design and optimisation of the vehicle like the drag and downforce coefficients for instance. The tools used are :

• Mistral : in-house developed software for computations from low speeds to very high speeds, chemically reacting flows, integrating various turbulence models used according to the case issues
• OpenFOAM : open source software, coupled with an unstructured grid generator, it is particularly suited for aerodynamic computations on very complex vehicle geometries
